My boss asked me about taking a position in Berlin again today! I told them I would need to know a lot more before I could consider it. They asked me what my concerns were and I told them money, housing, dog, and car for a start. I also mentioned that I can’t live without my cable TV…..They told me the dog would be relocated at the same time and there would be no quarantine and paperwork would be handled, they would provide me with a home and my choice of company car at no cost to me. All food and other costs would be covered too. They also said they would provide satellite TV….Now it is sounding a bit better. But- I don’t speak German! No problem they tell me, everyone I deal with will speak English. I have a few weeks to decide and they are willing to offer a 65K premium to live in Germany but want me to commit to three years….Not sure…. have to look into Germany a bit more.

Wow Dave that is too far away. German's are not known for their zest for life...Stay here I can't take the family without you. You need to help me run the businesses and deal with all of these nuts...I envy your freedom sometimes. I think France is more your style:)
I'm all for France!! But Berlin is now a very funky modern city... It has really changed since the fall of the wall.
Can you negotiate a visit to help make your decision and choose accommodation? It's quite commonly done before arranging relocation.
I have a listener from Stuttgart in Germany who is a friendly guy. Would you like me to put you in touch to find out more about the country.
Hey Nik I'm not sure Berlin is for me! Any info you have would be great! I know very little about Germany in General:)
Dave unless you are into latex and fisting, avoid Berlin!
I stumbled on www.anderecast.com which has some videos of Berlin. It's a good place for everything "alternative" ;) It's interesting because it used to be 2 cities, East and West. The street and parklife in summer is good. And since reunification in 89 there has been massive investment and rebuilding.
I'll ask Michael in Stuttgart to write to you if he can.
Failing that just come to Paris with Bryan :)
Hi Dave I read your blog every time you post:) (not always frequent)and have read your comments on lots of podcasts. It seems you have a great life and set up where you are and that you have traveled all over the world, so my advice would be to stay in the US or wait for the right job in Argentina or Brazil. Maybe we can have a drink next time you are home in LA? I sent you an email
Lucas
Dave you are scaring me now! I am calling you tonight. You can't desert we with our family! I will even consider one of Bryan's twisted requests! Really! Stay here.
Your Bro
Dave you have to do what is best for you but obviously visit they place multiple times first. (stay, stay, stay). Matt I would never let you act on my fantasy (darn), I'll continue to influence Dave in more subtle ways......
